Any recommendations? Canadian Tire has an epoxy paint coating, but unsure of quality (3 reviews on their website - 2 good, 1 very bad).

I used the coating I found at home depot/rona, some sort of epoxy one. You use a supplied acid etch to clean it first, then paint and sprinkle in some flakes. It's stood up to everything I've done, some pretty potent paint remover started to work at it if it wasn't cleaned up quickly, but everything else just wipes up.

Put ALL of the little flakes down, even if you think it looks like enough, put more - without them it's like a skating rink if the floor gets wet. They can make it tough to find miniscule parts if you drop stuff though.

All in all - I'd say it's working just fine. It was quite a bit of prep work though.

I have heard some good things about the Rustoelum epoxy floor coating.

http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=16

They also make an epoxy floor paint that is different and not as durable. Not sure which one you saw at CT.

The how-to shows on Speed TV pimp the U Coat It brand of floor cover. it looks pretty good too.

it can be ordered from here (Canadian Distributor)

Also, Slide-Lok garage interiors on Millar

http://www.slide-lokofsaskatoon.com/

sells a garage floor coating made by this company

http://www.flexmarpolyaspartics.com/index.html

It does not look like a DIY type coating.

I have Amer-lock or Amer-coat (can't remember) on mine it's about 100.00 a gallon X2 it's a two part epoxy its commercial grade the fumes would probably kill you its stinky stuff, But works a friend of mine has the same stuff 7 years and not a mark in it. My brother in law tried the over the counter stuff, new properly cured floor, properly etched+ washed peeled in two seasons. You need the noxious hazardous stuff to be sure I think you also get what you pay for. I would hire it out, for what cement costs now(ie gold) 1.50 sq/ft for a guaranty is cheap.
